Prescription coverage, made clear
Medical insurance and prescription drug coverage work differently. Here's how to tell what's covered where, and what's ahead for Bedrock pharmacy benefits.
Medical vs. pharmacy
Two kinds of coverage
Knowing which benefit applies helps you avoid surprises at the counter or on a bill.
Medical insurance generally covers hospital care and professional services: doctor visits, procedures, and the like.
Prescription drug coverage handles the medications you pick up at a pharmacy.
There are exceptions: medications administered during a hospital stay or in a doctor's office may fall under your medical coverage instead of your pharmacy benefit.
Covered under medical
Care and drugs administered in a clinical setting, like an infusion during a hospital stay or an injection at the doctor's office.
Covered under pharmacy
Prescriptions you fill yourself at a retail or mail-order pharmacy and take at home.

We're expanding our pharmacy network
We're currently negotiating with vendors to ensure every client has access to the best possible pharmacy network. We appreciate your patience while we finalize these partnerships, and we'll share details here as they're confirmed. Questions in the meantime? Email info@bedrock-tpa.com.
